A few days after the car accident, Irek woke up in the hospital, to find he lost his legs. At first his life seemed to be over. After getting Irek discharged from hospital, his parents kept an eye on him fearing that their only son would commit suicide. Irek found the strength to accept a new life and to go in for sports. Biathlon became the meaning of Irek's life.

"The Number of Life" is a film about the everyday and professional life of five-time Paralympic champion Irek Zaripov, a public figure and father of two.
