ROOTS

The photo project “Roots/Rukh” is my latest tribute to Bashkir culture. The word Rukh is untranslatable, conveying a deep emotional attachment and connection to one’s roots.

We are always in search of what is our own, our roots, and ultimately, ourselves. In works of art, we subconsciously seek what is familiar and close to us; we search for our homeland. I want our culture to be revealed to the world while remaining authentic and unique, allowing viewers to discover the symbols, colors, ornaments, and details embedded in our images. The photo project was first presented at the Russian House in Italy, and later shown in Germany, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Spain.
